Who i am
Description: Kadaj is a very large framed lion for his age, with massive paws that are a light tan color fading upwards to a darker brown that covers the rest of his pelt. He has a two-toned mane. A light tan (like his paws) color highlighting his face and head that turns to a darker brown almost black bottom and ends in the middle of his back. Kadaj, though a rare sight, has a charming smile, and beautiful hazel eyes, but in certain lighting can seem almost green. He has an empty look about him most of the time, and being he rarely speaks, others perceive him to be unfeeling and cold, leading most of the pride to calling him GrimJaw, or Grim for short.
Life Left Behind: Kadaj was born along with three sisters and one brother, into a pride that knew nothing of kindness and affection. Most raised in this pride didn't know how to show soft emotions, and never liked benevolent acts towards one another, both seen as weakness. His mother felt no love toward her cubs and the pride was no different. They ruled with cruelty, violence, and death. Kadaj was taught that the world outside of the one he lived would be no different, that he must fight for everything he had or wanted, or end up dead.
His father was a devilish ruler with a temperament like no other, and treated everyone like dirt just because he could. After a failed hunt his father lost his grip on sanity yet again. That very night Kadaj and his brother awoke from the rock they slept behind to cub-like roars of protest and pain. The next morning the den smelled of blood and there were no female siblings in sight. Kadaj and his brother learned of their fathers inpatients, injustice, and how to stay not on his "good" side but more so out of his way completely. Doing so, got them good favors, however if Kadaj failed in any task he would be repeatedly beaten till his fathers satisfaction; leaving him bruised and bloodied most of the time, but he knew in the back of his mind better to be beaten then eaten.
When the time came for the young lions to leave out on their own, their father wanted to remind them and his pride who was king and why, making a prime example out of them both. A few days before their leave he gathered the pride and demanded the brothers fight to the death, to see which one had the strength and will to survive. Kadaj stood frozen to his fathers request, glancing back and forth between him and his brother, but his brother, couldn't take it anymore. He spoke out against their fathers outrageous test of madness. The king grew quickly impatient and angered by the protest, lashing out and killing his son himself. With his point made and his laziness at that moment to finish them both, he let out a warning to his last son. Let this be a lesson to you boy... He snarled ...and you best headin it well. Haha, or end up like him. He motioned his head to the bloody young lion lying still on the ground, smiled cruelly and walked away with the rest of the pride. Kadaj was saddened for the loss, but soon set out on his own, taking in his fathers words and accepted it as a fact of the harsh life of his kind. Not long after he stumbled into Baya lands, and was accepted into the pride. For his fathers ways were similar to King Katili's, and although he would never say it, Katili and the Baya Pride was by far kinder than his.
My Understanding: Kadaj is very a quiet soul. He doesn't speak unless spoken to, and never talks to anyone in the pride other wise. Even if he didn't agree with one word spoken, he would nod and go about his way. He has but one friend, himself. After loosing his brother, he kept low, out of everyone's way and just did as he was told, avoiding confrontation all together. Doing so he has become a prisoner in his own mind. He often lays in the dark of the dens caves and drifts off, lost in his thoughts of what he could have or should have done for him to receive more praise. A series of nauseating "what if" questions asked of himself, by himself after every task completed. He doesn't know much of what emotions are, or the true means to feel them by. And the feelings of affection are more than foreign to him, they are almost forbidden, but when received for doing something right and well, he will drive himself almost mad to make sure the next one goes according to plan. Better this life in the Baya Pride than his last, but he wonders why he is even here when he is often alone in the end.
Likes: To be alone in the dark, water, to be shown any form of affection.
Dislikes: He wouldn't let you know even if he had one...
