A deep gash, along the side of a broken ribcage, spilled the crimson blood from his body. Matted with dirt and blood, a male lion consumed with bruises and wounds laid beneath the gray, clouded sky. Rain had threatened to fall before the battle raged against Katili’s army. But now that many lions laid dead, most from his own pride, the water leaked tiny droplets and onto the blood soaked lion.
Jasiri, from the beginning only wished to take Katili down. Now that he realized how true the rumors were, concerning how strong the Baya pride was, Jasiri knew it was helpless from the start. Kizuri had no idea that one of his warriors gathered a few lions from the Jema Pride and tried to seize the moment and destroy Katili. Except now, understanding his plans were reckless, the large male mourned for his fallen comrades. The very ones who tried to stop him, but instead followed to make sure the foolish lion would not be killed.
Jasiri, located in the Baya lands, was too broken to move. His body ached, and his heart was beyond mending. Blood mixed with rain, poured onto the ground, which sunk deep into his dark mane. Though he would not give up, Jasiri was struggling staying alive.

Niara padded through the graveyard, one of her favourite places to be, and although it was, she was not happy, Naz didnt like the rain, she growled as a large droplet splashed on her head, she walked along, tail down, head low and ears flat, but then something caught her attention, under the smell of the rain was another scent, a scent of blood, a scent of a male, a scent... of a Jema. Naz curiously followed the trail, her hear lept at what she saw ahead of her, a blood field, bodies of Jema and Baya littered the ground, she slowed her pace as she walked past the bodies, noticing how many of the dead were Jema. From the corner of her eye she saw a slight movement, she spun and faced the large ingured male lying on the ground, she crouched low and bared her fangs at the Jema, he may be injured, but he was not to be trusted. She kept her eyes on him, she noticed how weak he was, how much life seemed to be ebbing from him with each passing minute, she hessitated for a moment, then let her guard down, she moved slightly closer to him, though she was still far enough away from his striking distance, she saw the large wound in his side, and although he had lost alot of blood, she could see it was already starting to clot and flow was slowing. She sat there, just watching him, ears still layed back from the rain, which was now pouring down quite heavily, but for some reason, although he was a Jema, she couldnt bring herself to leave him, maybe she wanted to watch him die? but that wasnt right, and she knew it, plus he wasnt going to die, not yet anyway, already the wound had started its long treck of healing, the blood flow has near enough stopped by now, her dark golden eyes didnt leave his body, if she was her father, he would have been dead at first glance, but the fact was, she wasnt her father, although she carried many of his qualities, she couldnt bring herself to kill this male

The sounds of rain pouring onto the ground was loud to Jasiri. Gently, he closed his eyes and shut the world from his mind. But the images of the battle still lingered and the countless of deaths were fresh and burned in his memory. He felt their lives were in vain and now their deaths as well. Many of them were friends, almost like brothers; so to watch them died, everyone of them, tore his soul into tiny pieces.
The rain soothed his pain and almost felt like a healing. But when the sounds of foot steps entered his auds, Jasiri could only open his eyes. Though his vision was blurred and his strength was weakening, he could still smell the scent of a female. What was familiar to him was the blood of Baya running through her veins. The same blood of Katili. He wasn’t sure if it was a hallucination, caused from his pain or terror from the battle, but either way it felt too real.
At first, Jasiri only wanted to lift himself. When that failed, his body fell and struck the ground with a loud thud. The male lion shook his muzzle, dirt and blood spilled freely upon the rocks around him. The scent of the female lingered and to his surprised, Jasiri still found himself alive. He was almost sure that the female would take his life, not pity him. Too confused to think straight and much in pain to grieve, Jasiri used his strength to speak.
"I know you’re there," he spoke, too tired to speak unneeded details. "I don’t need your pity. Take my life, so I can die in battle with honor." Jasiri really didn’t believe dying in battle with honor wasn’t necessary, especially when your enemy has a clear shot. But the pain became too much and words spoke on their own. The Jema lion was only half conscious, but still too proud to have his enemy pity him.

She watched him move, trying to get up and then fall back again, for some reason she felt sorry for this poor brute, her father would have been more than dissapointed to see her sitting there watching a Jema male, no less the ring leader of his army, as he struggled to hold onto his life, "yes i am here" her voice was bold and clear, "i should have killed you on first sight" she said quietly, making sure he could hear her, but making sure no one else was around to listen, she turned her head, looking around her, and although she couldnt see much through the heavy rain, she could just sence that it was only him and her, she then turned her gaze back to him, "you're lucky your not dead, be greatful you have your life, dont offer it up on a plate, even if there isnt much there" this time her voice was smoother and comforting, she smiled breifly, then it faded again, "and just for the record, i dont pity you" she spoke words of truth, she didnt pity him all that much, she just happened to be walking through when she caught his scent and curiosity got the better of her, but the reason for leaving him with life she doesnt understand, she should have killed him, but just felt that she couldnt, she was so glad that her father wasnt around to see this

For some odd reason, having her there, anyone, had some sort of healing affect. Perhaps, like any sober lion, no one really wanted to die alone. So, having the unnamed female lion there was some sort of comfort. But, knowing well she was Baya, Jasiri refused to consider himself lucky she was sparing his life. Even if there was compassion, but strength in her voice.
Jasiri, listened to her words and very closely, imagined what she must look like. To his surprise, she did not come out as a monster or an image of an ugly-looking Baya. Instead , by her voice alone, he saw he as a gentle beauty, though with fierce determination. "It would not be right, if you took pity." Jasiri finally spoke, after a little strength returned. "I would take it as an insult, though by now, I sense you are merely interested." That was only a guess when Jasiri spoke, but the truth.
He turned to his side, paws gently laid beside the large, muddy body. His side no longer hurt, but only ached when he moved too rapidly. The scent of the lioness was the strongest from the carcasses beside him to the blood-rain mixed. It’s smelled just like Katili, yet nothing like him. His tailed flickered slightly, before he rose to his hind quarters, looking away from the female; though he wouldn’t been able to see her anyway.
"My name is Jasiri," the make lion spoke, the rain coming down even harder. Thunder and lightning passed in the background.

she watched him and listened quietly to his words, she smiled slightly at his guess, she sat perfectly still while he slowly raised himself up, she flicked her tail, droplets of water flying off in all directions, she raised herself to her feet and took a cautious step towards him, "Jasiri" she said, "nice to meet you, i am..." she was broken by the sound of thunder, she jumped and then let out a mean hissing sound at the sky, she then averted her eyes back to the male "sorry, i am Niara/Naz, whatever is better for you" she smiled, here she was talking to a jema lion in the pouring rain, he was the enemy but here she was saying he could call her by her nickname like he was a close friend. Water dripped from her pelt, her ears still laying flat, she looked around and spotted a cave not that far off, it was small, but would nicely hold two lions, she looked back to Jasiri "i am going to that cave to get out of this rain, your welcome to come and join me if you would like" she smiled, she then left him and darted over to the cave, once inside she shook the water from her pelt, but then there was a new problem. Now she was out of the rain, the scent of her heat wasnt covered up, and she had just invited a male, no less a jema male, into the cave with her without even thinking, she let out a sigh, she wasnt heartless enough to go back out and say "well actually, you stay out here and i will go in there" although Naz was like her father, she wasnt spineless, besides, this male, jema or other wise, was pretty cute she thought

Jasiri watched as the female lionesses left the to seek for shelter. What he gathered from his, besides the daughter of Katili, was that she must despises the rain. He chuckled at her when she hissed at the sky, but that was too much and a sharp pain grew through his spine. Mud had gathered around his paws and along side his ribs. So, he appeared to be much darker than he really was.
Stalking after didn’t seem like a brilliant plan, well for those who were the cautious type. Being the daughter of Katili, this Niara character might lead him into a trap. But, the lion did not feel an angered spirit, only a curious and wet lionesses. With the strength he had, Jasiri shook his mane and carried himself to where the female waited for him. But before he had the chance entering the cavern, she stop and looked a bit concerned. Jasiri smirked at her character change, no longer appearing as the merciless Katili’s daughter, but a more hesitate lion. It was until he drew closer to the cave when he smelled her scent, a scent very appealing to him. Was it that time already? Mating season? Jasiri had been caught up in his own plans against Niara’s father, the male forgot it was close for mating ritual to begin.
Either way, the lion entered the cave and sat his hind quarters beside the female. While her scent may intoxicated him, Jasiri acted his best not to notice. But with such a small cave, it was very hard to. So to keep him body from feeling anything, he determinedly set his mind to cease any ideas. “I see you do not care for the rain.” The dark lion pronounced, looking outside then glancing his golden orbs on the female besides him. “Are you sure you want me here? I can move myself some place else, if I make you the least bi uncomfortable.”

She watched as the male approached the cave, then he stopped, Niara's heart started to pound him her chest, maybe he was having other ideas about being in the cave with her, once again he started to move, he came into the cave and sat beside her, she smiled as she him become uncomfortable, well at least she wasnt the only one, seeing this in him set her mind at ease, she let out a light laugh as he spoke about the rain, "the rain is cold and wet" she said. She lay down, her body shivering, rain had always affected her like this, it made her cold and shivery, that is why she didnt like it and prefered to stay out of it. She looked up at him as he asked her a question, "well i am not going to let you go back out there" she smiled, and her golden eyes met his for a moment, sending chills down her spine, she broke the contact and rest her head on her paws, looking out of the cave, body still shivering.

Jasiri’s curious eyes returned to the opening of the cavern. He could understand Niara would hate the rain. In fact, he too wasn’t ecstatic about the fallen droplets, but it’s was the thunder he despised the most. He sat quiet for a few more minute, deep in thought, almost forgetting the scent that would often drive males insane. Tenderly, he sat himself a few feet away from the Baya princess, far away as the cavern allowed. When the thunder exploded and lightning flashed, she grimaced when the bodies of his comrades were illuminated.
“Do not take this the wrong way, and I appreciate you’re compassion, but I hate your father.” Jasiri replied, his two front paws crossing one another in front of him. Katili has always been sort of bad news, ever since he was a cub. The Jema pride would always find their prey driven out of their pride lands and into the Baya and more often than not, found dead carcasses of their pride cubs and hunters. Jasiri thought Katili was a monster and would probably hate him until the day he died.

Niara jumped as the thunder echoed around the sky, she watched the male, watched that he sat as far from her as he could, she laughed at his statement "thats funny, most others think i am exactly like him, but i understand you hate him, if i was a Jema i am sure i would too" she smiled softly, she studied Jasiri for a few moments, her soft smile turned into a slight flirty one without her realising, and before she could stop herself she spoke, "you dont have to sit all the way over there, i dont bite" she said flirtily, he was only 3 feet from her but still, almost the instant the words left her lips she felt completely embarraced, but she once again found herself staring into his eyes, they were so soft, so gentle, so warm, she smiled softly again as she let herself get absorbed by his mezmorizing eyes

Jasiri laughed, or rather chuckled when the lioness jumped at the crash of thunder. He, too, would probably jump, but he was focused on the bodies that laid outside. He turned his head to the side when she first offered him to come closer, but than seem to hesitate at the thought. Her suggestion sounded inviting because they would be able to keep each other warm through body heat; but he thought she might rethink the suggestion. So instead, he slightly began to shake his head, but her eyes caught his. While she seem to look deeply into his own, Jasiri flickered his tail at her odd behavior. Never would he thought a Baya would act such a way.
“Mhm, a daughter confessing her real emotions. That is, if things were different.” Jasiri spoke, turn his auds towards the sound outside, but he hardly heard them. Something was different about this lioness. She wasn’t looking for anyone’s approval, but seem to have determination and pride. “Now, what is a Baya doing out here?” The dark lion asked, gently, smiling at his charming features. “The battle is over and obviously, won within minutes.” There was a glimpse of pain at the mention of his lost, but resisted that down and avoided to think or talk about it.

he seemed hesitant, "oh come on" she grinned "just because i am female doesnt mean you cant lie next to me" she joked, she too flicked her tail, but it was a flirty gesture, and also it seemed to send a sudden waft of her heat around the cave. She laughed lightly at his words, "i wouldnt call it confessing" she said, she watched his ears move, but she could tell that she was his main focus at the moment, she took a moment or two to think about his question, "is a female not aloud to spend time exploring anymore?" she answered him with her fathers trick, by asking him another question in return, she smiled at him in a soft but flirty way

Naira’s response wasn’t something Jasiri expected. She not only easily answered his question, but at the same time allow him to answer in return. He smirked at her tactics, amused the way she spoke. In the corner of his orbs, he spot her tail moving about in a rather lusty fashion. It wasn’t until than he realized the lioness beside him was flirty. Of course, he was attracted to her in the beginning and simply just not by her scent. Jasiri shook his mighty mane and took the female’s invitation.
He stood, only scowling slightly at the quick pain in his ribs. Sitting, now in a full right position, he took a few steps and slid beside Naira. Their sides touch, and like he though, her pelt felt silky from the rain and smooth from her lioness’ touch. “Thank-you, than. I will stay close to you. That way, we can keep each other company.” Jasiri purred, a hint of flirtation in his voice. Casually, the male rustled his paw against her own, pretending in a flirty way, he accidentally touched her. “When you explore, you must often met the males of your pride? I don’t think every male can keep their distance, especially when mating season began.”

She smiled as he moved and lay beside her, as his side touched hers, chills went up and down her spine, she smiled flirtily at his flirtatious comment, then when he 'casually' put his paw by hers, she tensed for a split second and then relaxed, she licked his paw, she lifted her head and laughed at his question. "you'd be suprised, the males of my pride all know my father, none of them can touch me with out his say so" she said winking at him, "but my father thinks he can control my life all the time, so obviously he doesnt let the males near me" she rolled her pretty golden eyes as she spoke about Katili, she then looked back at Jasiri, "but your not from my pride, only you have the power to touch me" she said flirtliy, adding a very flirty smile aswell, she then let out a soft laugh and leant over, resting her head lightly on his shoulder

Her lick felt, almost forbidden, to Jasiri. Unlike in the past where females expressed their emotions, they would bow and casually give a hidden wink. But Naira, she wasn’t afraid to express through physical. It should be natural to express such desires and as Niara showed joy in his teasing, he smirked and nudge the lioness. As he soon forgot whose daughter she was and focusing on the lioness she was, Jasiri accepted her and lift his own head to rest upon her own. For a few seconds he remained still in that exact position.
“I like that,” Jasiri confessed. “To have the free will expressing such temptations.” He found it hard resisting the urge to keep his heart stone. After the years he spent trying his best to train to one day over come Katili, for his pride, Jasiri found himself falling for the same Katili’s daughter. The princess before him yet stole his attention for the battle’s results and seem to capture his interest. He nipped at her ear gently and gingerly, nibbled affectingly.
“What do you think, if we leave this dreary place.” Jasiri suggested calmly, holding no longer grief for his fallen comrads. He’ll miss them and in time thank them for their loyalty, but now here was someone alive. Someone who caught him unexpectedly. “I think a place like this is only for the dead, not for us.”
