Simba lay in the field, his head on his paws, brooding silently. He, unlike other lions, was easily distinguishable from the grass in the field. His rich, reddish-brown fur stood out in the tan grass. Every once in a while he growled in the back of his throat, often without realizing it. He couldn't stop thinking about Katili, the lion he wished was his father, and Fail, the lion who was really Katili's son.
Simba dug his claws into the ground angrily. If Katili had a son, then he wouldn't need to spend time with him. Katili would probably want to spend time with his son, the next person in line for control of the Baya pride. Simba got up and began pacing back and forth. It wasn't fair. Why did Fail get to be Katili's son? Fail wasn't like Simba. He was a failure. Simba always did well when he tried to do things like Katili. So why was it he was beneath-
Simba sighed and fell back into the grass. What was the point in being sad about it? He couldn't do anything. If he killed Fail, he wouldn't only betray the pride, but he would anger Katili. He could never do that. He heard a sound approaching and picked his head up, eyes sweeping back and forth. Then he saw Fail, who he addressed as Ajay. "Speak of the devil," Simba grunted.

I was just out walking, minding my own business, making sure i was out of the way of things i could mess up, my golden eyes scanned across the grass beneath my paws, my ears twitched as i heard someone talk to me, i lifted my head and saw Simba, i rolled my eyes, he was on my back alot now, i stopped a few feet from him, "hello Simba" i sighed, but things werent to bad at the moment, he had addressed me as Ajay, my proper name, and not Fail, like every other lion in this pride called me, i hated being called Fail, but i live with it, not much i can do about it, its true, i am a Failure, i let out another sigh and sat down, tail flicking back and forth, staring blankly at Simba lying in the grass a few feet from me

Simba snorted. "What are you doing out here?" he asked, not that he cared. He figured he might as well show some sort of self control around Ajay, because if he really respected Katili, he would respect his cubs as well. "And, uh, where's your dad?" he asked in an offhand manner, as if it didn't matter to him. In reality, Simba was extremely worried. He was glad that he knew Ajay wasn't with Katili, spending quality time together and racking up father-son points, but he was also afraid that maybe someone was trying to attack Katili, or trying to endanger the safety of the pack. Yes, Simba was a bit paranoid, but he really did care about the Baya. "He's not in any danger, is he? Because if he is, we should go to t-" Simba shut his mouth. Stupid of him, babbling off like a fool in front of Ajay.

I knew how Simba felt about my father, i knew how he felt about me, but i didnt care all that much, "my dad is off somewhere talking to Aly i think" i didnt really care, i was still annoyed with Katili for exiling my mother from the pride, i didnt even know why, Me and my father didnt have what you might call a father son relationship, my father didnt care about me, but why should he, i am two years old, more than capable of living on my own, oh yeah and i am a failure, i looked back at Simba as his words broke my train of thought, "no, he isnt in any danger, i wouldnt class a blind lioness as danger" i spoke to Simba as if he were a fool, but i kept my mouth shut, not wanting to make the situation any worse than it was already

Simba growled. Did Ajay have no respect for the disabled? Well he did. Simba managed to contain his disgust- more or less. "What were you doing walking aruond here?" Simba asked, a bit more hostile than he had intended. Simba was afraid that if Ajay was supposed to be patrolling and he had stopped to talk to him, he'd get in trouble. After all, even if he wasn't controlling Ajay, it took two to hold a conversation. Simba hissed suddenly. "And you should never assume someone isn't a danger just because they have a slight disadvantage." Although being blind is a bit more than a disadvantage, Simba thought to himself. "Because anyone has the potential to hurt someone, and for all you know, she could be planning to hurt Katili!" Simba inhaled deeply. He didn't know why he was snapping at Ajay. He hadn't done anything to him directly. And The chances of Aly attacking Katili were low.
