Laelaps, or better known as Cerberus, trotted through the horrible place where mostly all his family had died. He felt evil, just running, not trying to help them. He felt selfish. But today, his light side was out, so he was going by Laelaps, and not Cerberus. He wondered where Airron was, or if he was even alive still. Laelaps cried as he thought how alone he was. If he was in Cerberus form he wouldn't be caught dead crying, but he was in his good form today. Simply searching out his cousin. The tiger lumbered slowly across the plains, as if expecting his family to greet him. he imagined he was seeing them die all over again. Death haunted him everywhere he went, convinced him he was evil for letting his parents die. And because he thought he was evil, he wouldn't dare get close to another living soul. If he ever did see Airron again, his heart might just break into pieces, knowing he's not alone. Laelaps could hear the evil voice of Cerberus, echoing in his head. but today his light side would stay out, for he had done a good deed today. And it was not Cerberus that had done it, it was Laelaps. He was convinced he was alone in this world, but was he really? His cousin could be alive and happy somewhere. Maybe it was time to forget the past, but he couldn't. He doubted Airron could either. Laelaps moved toward the water, shivering at the thought of it flooding. He still had horrible nightmares in his mind, and he wished all of it was just a dream that he would soon wake up from. Then his mother would tell him everything would be alright.. and he would feel at home. But that would never happen.

Across the other side of the plains, Airron lay quietly, alone, staring at his reflection in the other river, and the closer he looked, the more he saw his cousin in the reflection, not him, he growled at the river and batted his reflection with his paw sending ripples across the river, he got to his feet and turned from the river, he walked over to a large dead tree, effortlessly climbed up it and the lay to rest on one of its limbs, he large front paws and tail hanging from the branch, why was life so cruel to him when he was so kind to life, he had been having manu flashbacks lately, some from when he was younger, others from finding his mate dead, and each one dug right into his heart and ripped it open further, some nights he would wake up drowned in sweat and terrified as the nightmares became worse, and now he thought that by coming back to the place he was raised he might find some understanding and clear things up in his mind, but all it seemed to do was bring back more memories, and yet, Airron couldnt bring himself to leave the flood plains, not just yet anyways, he felt as if there was something he still needed to do here, something he needed to find, or maybe someone...

A scent caught Laelaps's nose. A tiger scent. A burst of hope hit him s he thought it might be Airron. He bounded toward it, and looked up at the tiger in the dead tree. His heart drooped, this didn't look like his cousin. But they had been apart for a while. Maybe his looks had just changed a bit? He turned away from the tiger in the tree, feeling less hopeful. He didn't even want to ask the males name. Laelaps's head and tail drooped as he walked slowly away. Dust flew into the air as he dragged his tail along. For a moment, he stopped to look back at the tiger. Even if it wasn't his cousin, he could use some company. So from where he stood, he called to the tiger, H-hello, was all that managed to come out. Laelaps turned to face the tiger, and sat down, looking up at him. He didn't feel hopeful that it was Airron, and he didn't want to ask the males name yet. Laelaps wondered if his cousin even missed him. Little did he know, his cousin was right in front of him, and did in fact miss him.

Airron was just thinking about his cousin, was he still alive even? and then a scent drifted up his nostrils, a slightly familiar scent, but he couldnt place it, and the someone spoke to him, he looked down and not far away stood a tiger, and then he knew, that face was something he could never forget, it was his cousin, it was Cerberus, a smile spread across his face like a wild fire through a dry savannah grass land, he jumped out of the tree without so much as a thud, he didnt know how Cerberus would react to seeing him again so he stayed at a safe distance, "hello yourself" he said calmly, surely his voice would give him away even if his cousin did not recognise him

Laelaps looked at the stranger. He seemed to... know who he was? Do I know you? My name's Laelaps. He lashed his tail gently back and fourth from where he sat. Surely this wasn't his cousin? Wouldn't he have recognized him? The voice did sound a bit familiar... But it had been so long since he heard Airron speak. He couldn't tell if it was his cousin or not. But he didn't think it was. besides, Airron only knew him as Cerberus, so even if it was Airron, his name wouldn't match what his cousin knew him as.But maybe that was why this tiger seemed to know him? Or maybe he just looked like someone the tiger knew?

Airrons heart dropped, here was a tiger, same decription as his cousin, same voice as his cousin, same everything, yet the name did not fit, he let out a sigh, "sorry to bother you Laelaps" he dipped his head to the tiger then turned on his heal and slowly walked back to the tree, tail dragging on the floor, again he climbed up and lay on one of the branches, his mind full of memories, and for some reason the name Laelaps seemed familiar, but he didnt know where he had heard it before, he sighed again and he closed his eyes, bringing back an old memory of the time he and Cerberus went their own ways, they had both been devistated but knew it was for the best, but as Airron thought about it more, maybe it wasnt such a bad idea to stay together

Laelaps! Don't let him go! That's my cousin! screamed the voice of Cerberus. Sorry, Cerb, I'll put you in control. Suddenly he was Cerberus. The tiger chased after Airron. Wait! It's me, Cerberus! That was my counterpart Laelaps. Cerberus's voice was deeper and darker than Laelaps's. While Laelaps's voice was more light and kind. His eyes were warm with affection for his cousin. How could Laelaps not recognize him?! He growled at his counterpart and Laelaps said nothing. Cerberus turned back to his cousin, happier than he had ever been before.
